Dr. Philip Brown was born in 15 January 1904 in Manchester, England and his family arrived in Geelong, Victoria in 1912. He attended Geelong Church of England Grammar School in 1914. Dr. Brown studied at Melbourne University, gained a journalism cadetship with the Melbourne Argus, worked as a jackaroo in South Australia and was an opal miner in Coober Pedy. In 1940 he enlisted in the 35th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment and after officer training was posted to the 60th LAA Regiment in Glasgow. He m...
